Lê Petit Comitê
First created in Boston in 2001 by the vibraphonist André Juarez, the band has, as its main characteristic, an exquisite though popular sound, making it easy to listen to and accessible to large audiences.
Its ideology is swing-based, mixed with a contagious blend of rhythms and the repertoire is formed by different styles: Popular Brazilian Music, Jazz-Rock, Funk, Jazz and Progressive Rock. For over a decade of experience with the instrumental music in the São Paulo jazz scene, the group has performed on countless occasions: SESC units, many jazz festivals, nightclubs, television and radio broadcasting programs, and other public areas.
The band has recorded two CDs “Pirata” and “LPC Ao Vivo no Espaço Zé Presidente” and a DVD “Ao Vivo no CCSP”.
In 2009, Le Petit Comité participated in a project with the São Paulo University Choir – CORALUSP, performing British music (Queen, Elton John, The Beatles, Celtic Woman, among others).
In 2013 the band was awarded by ProAc, an important prize sponsored by the São Paulo government and is enrolled in a big tour trough many Brazilian cityes.
The new CD “Vintage” is the result of a research of national singers and rock bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s (Novos Baianos, Secos e Molhados, Raul Seixas, Milton Nascimento, Doces Bárbaros, and others).
The band received a São Paulo University’s award and released a large European tour sponsored by the Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão Universitária (Alemanha, França e Bélgica).
